I provided a deliciously fresh Ploughmans, along with a whole jug full of tasty fruit for their Pimms and laid the table ready for them. While they ate, and enjoyed their time to relax and catch up, I laid out the materials for a craft session, making lavender eye masks.
Once the ladies were well underway with their crafting, I prepared the next round of drinks, and a heavenly lemon sponge cake, with lemon buttercream filling, and a lemon icing on top. Candles were lit, cake was eaten, and fun was had!
Not everyone managed to finish their eye mask, so I happily took them home to complete them, and delivered them a few days later - it's much more important to me that people enjoy themselves, rather than rushing to finish something.
"We had an amazing vintage themed craft evening with Dianne from Chic n Cheerful. The food was delicious. Dianne was the perfect 'hidden hostess'. The whole evening was delightful from start to finish and the craft session was the icing on the yummy lemon drizzle cake. " Andrea
It occurred to me, that this craft lesson, and freshly made food, served on our vintage and mismatched crockery, cost less than an average meal in a chain restaurant - it got me thinking... what a lovely way to get together with friends - I think I'll do the same!
